7. La Michoacana Natural

The history of this unique ice cream parlor began in 1940 in the municipality of Tocumbo in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Throughout the years, La Michoacana expanded in the United States and today it has several stores all around Florida. Besides ice creams (“helados”), La Michoacana also serves “paletas” (popsicles) made with a base of milk or water, milkshakes, and fresh juices.

What makes it special? La Michoacana offers authentic Mexican ice cream flavors that are hard to find elsewhere, such as chongos, mamey, guanabana, queso (cheese), and ron pasas (rum & raisin).
